Delectable Portrait...Of Varied....Faces Poem by James B. Earley

Delectable Portrait...Of Varied....Faces

Amongst my varied pastimes, I find an insatiable attraction to quotations for the profundity of thought, and often their meditative value. I write copious poetry, frequently
inspired by bits of imagination I've acquired somewhere. Occasionally, I'm reprimanded, and told in no uncertain terms, this or that piece is in poor taste, etc. Such is the case with the poem:

Memoirs...Of A Cunning Linguist

...Some wizened poets gathered
For a challenge thought absurd
'Compose a poem of driven passion
...Using only a single word'

Amongst the crowd sat a gent
….A smile…upon his face
Memories of yesteryear…
Another time…another place

The old codger rose..and made his way
To the podium....painfully slow
..'Hell..I have two damn poems for ya
Cunnilingus......and Fellatio'

In this instance I'm not sure if I'm dealing with hypocrisy, or perhaps some miserable degree of social disadvantage. But whatever the case, I seem to find measures of reflective validation further down the road. As I find within the comments of a dear, dear lady. Always an opinionated woman, she's had many interesting thoughts to share regarding our nation, and its presidents, both past and present. One quote in particular, I cling to as an attitudinal inspiration of one having lived a life of treasured meaning, but also lends a measure of intellectual validation with regard to the aforementioned composition:

"Clinton lied. A man might forget where he parks or where he lives, but he never forgets oral sex, no matter how bad it is."

~Barbara Bush

Though polar political opposites, she's always been a spiritual favorite of mine, and today is a fabulous opportunity to say goodby to this....a national treasure.

Mrs. Bush, fabulous travels, tons of thanks, and fare thee well! ! ! ! ! ! !
