Deliverance From Egypt Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Deliverance From Egypt

For my Seder Hosts - Pesach 5766 / 2006

When Moses led G-D's people
Out of Egypt late at night,
Pursued by Pharaoh's Army,
To the Red Sea ~ what a sight.

When the Children of Israel,
Saw the sea, they did utter up a cry,
But G-D parted those waves
To deliver them from their plight.

When Pharaoh's Armies followed
Along the path made in the sea,
G-D sent the sea down on them
And destroyed them complete~ly.

This happened on the Eve of Pesach,
All those many years ago,
And we tell the story at Seder,
So all our children should know.

How G-D delivered our forebears,
Out of slavery to be free,
To keep all HIS Commandments,
Which HE has given to me and thee.
