Delivered To Expect Accepted Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Delivered To Expect Accepted

What is taken for granted,
Frequently becomes ignored.
Like people who get less,
Than what has been promised.
Yet...
Are depended upon,
For their assistance to acquire...
Votes to place others in positions.
To be acknowledged as leaders.
Equipped to represent,
The interests of the people.
Picking the ones,
They chose to represent them.
And their interest to do this best.
But...
Eventually left displeased.
By a disrespect received.
With a disbelieving,
Again...
To have been deceived.
Again.
Although done to do repeatedly.
Again.
As promises again are made.
Again to begin again.
To claim time is needed,
To present and make their interests...
Effective.
But that can not be done to deliver.
If permitted to allow...
Impatience to interfere,
With those promises made again.
To one day come.
Delivered to expect accepted.
Regardless when they arrive.
Whether they have been prioritized or not.
Or...
Intentionally forgotten.

And besides...
What is the big deal?
What is all the fuss about.
People want to hear promises to them made?
They were made!
