Democracy? Fallacy! Poem by H E Alexander

Democracy? Fallacy!

Democracy? Fallacy!
You have no sense of reality
and you have the audacity
to ask of me
to vote for thee,
then you will see
that the wishes of the majority
will forever be
primarily
within your policy?
But you have no integrity!
No mark of incorruptibility,
you pursue supremacy
uncompromisingly
and you forget, quite conveniently,
to act upon poverty
or strike against violence or villainy
and, having no regard for field or tree,
you build your motorways relentlessly.
Your ideology
is based solely
on power and money;
it is quite morally
wrong!
So, though you may not agree,
until you replace the politics of pompous vanity,
of greed, and of dishonesty,
with those of justice and veracity,
I will save my cross for a higher authority.
