Very good write. I feel the poem is meant to be open-ended. Adds to the effect. Well done.

There appears to be a ring of incompleteness in this poem, but perhaps that is part of the message of the poem. Depression keeps things in, and the ability to let it all freely flow is curtailed. I like this poem in that respect. So much is said that is not said.

''even though they always go..'' this is the point.. you need to care, for a real help.. but nowadays, (almost) no one cares..

I too use a perpetual smile to cover the sadness I feel. Nicely written, Ryley. Thanks Peace
