Des Auras. (Translation) . Poem by Michael Walker

Des Auras. (Translation) .

La terre et le ciel
par la lune- ou par le jour
ils ont la grace ou la grandeur,
toutes les deux quelquefois.

Concernant nous on
n'est pas si sur,
sauf pour les
occasions graves.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The moon and the sky have grace or grandeur- or both- by night and by day. You can't be so sure with people 'except on grave/ occasions'.
This is a nice play on the word 'grave'= 'serious', or 'the grave at a funeral'.
