Desert

Desert just over the back fence
took ants to drying out rats and pets,
removing their organs,
trying out preservatives
and being hardened to squeamish stuff
from a very early age.

When the or became stacking rocks,
when into big Egyptants they grew,
it took them to drying out humans too.
