Desiring Half-Forms Poem by Nadeem Ishaque

Desiring Half-Forms

Rating: 5.0

Half-moon smiles on a barren tree
Hiding its sadness for none to see
Finds my silhouette in the canopy
Radiates its warmth down on me

How we both wish to be whole
To fill the emptiness in our soul
Blue blossoms in my empty bower
Muffled song of the spring shower

Longing inundates all of creation
Half-forms in restless anticipation
Desire suspended in a Will to be
Yearning for a love to set us free

A delightful piece of poetry, so well complemented by the graphic. I love the layout, three stanzas so well integrated. A perfect symmetry. A poem that is rich in form as well as content. A night lit by a half-moon and a heart bereft of love, craving wholeness. Everything stirs the heart despite the stillness of the atmosphere. That's a marvel to achieve....a sense of inner restlessness depicted in the most serene way.
