For A Poet
Her poetry is a beacon on Baudelaire's emblematic shores
With effortless ease her lucid expression magically pours
Lines composed in musical notes unfold with subtle grace
Pictures of life and nature, conundrums of love they trace
Let her poetry always be with captivating wonders replete
Of striking images and powerful metaphors never deplete
Let no cloud ever obscure her creativity's blooming stage
And sunshine be forever bright on her poetry's landscape
Some day Apollo's wreath shall crown her poetry's edifice
Her poems will be Orphic sentinels in Baudelaire's artifice
Let the blazing Flame of Poetry her writing forever sustain
And I wish her all joys and wonders a life may ever contain
Thats a sterling tribute to a fellow poet. Such symmetry, such grace, such flow...it has all a good poem should have. And most of all, the feelings and language are so consistent, they exist in harmony. Feelings are intense, yet contained. You have so artistically avoided hyperbole, yet have conveyed an overwhelming praise.
