Destiny And Conflict Poem by Barry Middleton

Destiny And Conflict

Rating: 5.0

if rain or river could transform
the evil in the soul of man
and wash away the ash of sin
baptismal in its master plan

perhaps to purify the soul
the savior rising in a cloud
could gather all the congregant
as our redemption speaks aloud

but avarice is woven deep
into the fabric of the earth
though some men try to rise above
yet few escape the bonds of birth

the garden that we all desire
is archetypal memory
and all we reach to grasp recedes
when fear and greed rule destiny
