Slink, you black devil
Across my room.
Into my face, unsubtle.
I`m not afraid of you.
See, I only fear
What befalls unknown,
Not this intimacy here
Where empathy has grown.
You`ve sheilded me
From my reckless hell
When I couldn`t stand to see
How very far I fell.
Within your fiery embrace
I find absolution
And the means to face
Truth born of confusion
You stealthily entice
With a shiny new blade
Your ending advice
Of a tranquil persuade
Stripped down by a measure
of incomparable ease
I cling to what pleasure
Flows from the devil beside me
