Dichotomy Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Dichotomy

Because I can't use an IPhone, then I'm an old fool, so say the millenials
However, a better fool than the one who can't stop using it, I say
I'm dull because I don't know how to have great fun, they say
I would rather take the pun than have my brains smutty, I say
They are destroying the relics of the so-called evil past, so they say
Yet the evil present is destroying their inner selves, so I tell them
Christianity brought colonialism, they will argue
Yet mission schools produced most revolutionaries than public schools, I retort
They Bible is false and science sacrosanct, they say
Yet narcotics destroy them daily despite science, I say
Fools are but tools against themselves!
