Differences - Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

A paper clip,
all dressed
in vinyl blue
was on alert
inside a glass
that once held
two hundred grams
of Thomy's mild.

And within seconds
of being pushed
passed over,
for a little
in bright pink
he felt it.

A burst of anger
at the injustice
deep within
and generated
within nanoseconds
a red hot state
capable of
the vinyl off
all clips.

It was an unintended
but quite equitable

To pick one clip
above the next,
it means to
the difference
one clip
and any other.
