Dim Of Wit Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Dim Of Wit

Whether conscious or not.
Late the time is to give,
Known and shown stupidity...
Pity or empathy,
Forgiveness to erase...
What many would consider normalcy.
When mistakes are made.
Yet straight up stupidity,
Is what it is.
And nothing more allowed to adore.

Somehow...
The benefit of a doubt,
Shouted out atop rooftops.
Should be stopped immediately,
When repeatedly stupidity...
Is warned to witness.
Stay away from it.
Yet goes ignored.

This...
No longer is in need to mention.
Or a judgement call to pass at all.
This appearance is an event.
Stewed and brewed around then sipped.
By those too dim of wit.
Victimized by their own ignorance.
And exclusively believing themselves to be,
Above truth and its reality.

Forgiveness given to give this,
Many will do.
But to who's benefit,
Will patience and tolerance...
Restore a quality of life destroyed.
To do with an intention,
For the purpose of image.
Diminished from the symbolism of it.
Marinating in the minds made crazed!

Hatred and the power to create it,
Is...
No different,
Then celebrating...
The jumping off a cliff.
Sipping on cocktails declaring victory!
