Diminished Cash Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Diminished Cash

Do I want this?
Or is it needed?
Do I wait until a craving demands?
Or do I resist...
Until I feel it as a command?
With a clarity I understand.
But can afford to ignore it.
Since I refuse to get it on credit...
Or seek a loan I will regret.
And if I can do that...
I can remove it from my wish list!
To keep payments off my back,
That leaves diminished cash...
A commodity,
That seems to grow more unfamiliar.
