Discrimination In Dictionaries



I was looking for a word in the French-English section,
when my eye fell on 'chambranle - mantelpiece'.
I looked up 'mantelpiece' in the English-French:
something, but not 'chambranle'.
I thought that was discrimination.

The word I didn't know,
that I was looking for, was 'chambeau',
from the golfer Bryson De...
It isn't in the dictionary, but Google yields:
it's a contraction, of the French, for 'beautiful fields'.

This is fascinating stuff. Dictionaries do some strange things, it seems. One of my recent poems is also about the dictionary. It's called " Seeking for Geezer" .
