Displaying This With Emphasis Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Displaying This With Emphasis

Presented to represent lessons taught,
To teach the benefits.
And significance of them.
Should leave no one these days to guess,
Which lessons had been prioritized.
And which lessons,
Never taught to teach to neglect.
Although those pretentious express,
Award winning shock and surprise.

With this done presented to represent,
Where their emphasis is placed.

That today no one should disbelieve,
Common sense, thoughtlessness...
And selfish acts displaying,
A lack of discipline to obey rules.
Or laws to follow,
Without throwing tantrums.
As if children still in pre-school.
Reflects what has become accepted,
As entitlements to expect and demand.
