Distant Dream Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Distant Dream

Distant Dream
- - - - - - - - - -
Among celestial airs
Heard her quiet moaning
Low at her eyes seen tears
Spilling down unceasing
Growing sad with pitying
As if no sun for her shall ever shine
Flowers are blighted
And she is benighted
Her heart wrenches in pain
That after what has been done
The doors of her heart are closed forever
That someone holds her heart to ransom
Though she loved him so truly and madly
Could crush it with unkind gesture
For her the world has no more charm
Her life has now become a shallow river
The heart she longed for
Never to be embraced
A distant dream it shall remain
Sinking into a magic dream even
She fought and fought
Till that fateful day
When she decided to have her way
The love she cherished has perished
Leaving her forlorn and deserted
As all dreams do
Casting a shadow all the way

The pangs of a lovelorn heart poignantly pictured! When she finds her love being rejected, a dark shadow falls over her life and she falls into a kind of depressive gloom! A moving portrait!
