For years, we longed for space
To to drift from one another
Like the sky and the ocean
Gazing upon each other, yet never meeting.
The world struggled to contain itself
And the warmth of human presence
Became a burden to bear,
Leaving only shadows and silhouette behind.
Then came a new order.
The silence permits permits our distance
In a world that now yearns for closeness
Like the whirlpool endlessly turning
Searching for what it has lost.
And so we reach for one another
Within the bliss of the waters
Still looking
Yet, distant from everyone.
