Divisions Of Vanity Poem by Mark Heathcote

Divisions Of Vanity

The sun and moon
where lovers once
till dancing on the sea
they saw in one another
a single vanity.

That encumbered them so truly
that never the one could meet
and dance now in the mirror
of the other's sacred seat.

~or~

The sun and moon were lovers once
until dancing on the sea
they saw in one another
a singularity, a vanity.

that encumbered them so truly
that neither one would meet
and dance in the mirror
of the other's scared seat.
