Sure I’d seen her
before &... before.

She always came
and danced before my decks

looked different every time
but somehow the same

a talent for inventing her self
becoming who she became.

She looked game.

Looked up to me adoringly
imploringly

as if I was Zeus
and I would descend upon her

in a shower of gold.

Was just about to
make my move.

Laughed as the record
acted like it was a Greek chorus:

“MY BABY LIKES TO MOVE
WHEN THE NEEDLE’S IN THE GROOVE! ”

Slipped on a 12 incher
went in for the kill.

When out of nowhere this
fantastic blonde

wearing hardly anything at all

French tongued her on the floor

slipped a carefully manicured hand
between her legs.

“Damn...damn...damn! ” I said.

Went back and put on

THE SULTANS OF PING:

“DANCING IN THE DISCO
BUMPER TO BUMPER

HEY! WAIT A MINUTE...
...WHERE’S ME JUMPER!
