' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' I'Ll Say Forever My Love(For Barry) - Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The music kept on
playing

not stopping
for nothing

it just kept going

as if the first slap
hadn't happened

or the ouch...second
for that matter.

Only when the record
approached its end groove

did it give
a little nervous hiccup

of
apology

& said: 'I'll say
forever my love! '

' 'I'll say
forever my love! '

'Turn that damn thing
...off! '

she swatted
the music

like it was a fly
annoying her

creating a loud
screechy scratch

which propelled the record
back to its beginning

the music kept on
playing

giving only a nervous
little jump

as the door
slammed.
