Do It Your Way - A Birthday Poem For My Son Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Do It Your Way - A Birthday Poem For My Son

Keep climbing those steps of exhaustion
keep jumping those hills of perspiration
keep skidding down over those slopes of irrelevance
but keep holding on to your illustrations of satisfaction.

Keep running over the ramps of hopefulness
keep hopping over the tracks of doubtfulness
keep stumbling over the pebbles of unreasonableness
but keep hanging on to your triumph of fulfillment.

Keep doing things you have to do
keep doing things you want to do
keep doing things you can do
but keep eliminating impossibility of achievement.

Keep seeking love as you move
keep sharing friendships as you like
keep discarding hatred as you grow
but keep revering God and justice indefinitely.

Keep remembering your promises as you walk
keep revering your commitments as you venerate
keep praying for your ancestors as you age
but keep happiness in your heart like a light in a lamp.

Keep dancing, keep praying, keep singing
keep laughing, keep crying, keep smiling
keep doing everything to nurture courage as you live
but keep doing it all your way to harvest eminence consistently.

Keep asking fate for alterations
keep asking God for blessings
keep asking memories for recollections of parent's love
but keep asking for reward of Heaven at the end of life's sequel.
