Don't Dare To Bother Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Don't Dare To Bother

I can't reopen up a door.
I can not do that anymore.
I can't undo what I have stopped.
I can't forget what you did start.
I can't allow that to my heart.
And I won't.

I can't look back at the past.
I can't have those memories last.
I can't sit and blame myself.
I can't do that for someone else.
I can't feel sorrow or the guilt.
And I won't.

No!
I can't do that again.
And I won't.
So...
Take my can't and know it as a don't,
Dare to bother.
Take my can't and know it as a don't!
