Don't Disturb Him, Please Poem by Amitava Sur

Don't Disturb Him, Please

Rating: 5.0

He whom we all regard utmost
And keep with a highest esteem,
It has been a long long time now,
That very Truth has taken a long recess.
He is now sleeping inside a coffin.
Don't disturb him, please.

Truth, a member of an elite club,
Being an entity of God!
If you dare to disturb him,
That God will be hurt and annoyed! !

All unfairness and barbaric acts
Have surfaced with full blast
Rationalism and justice have taken a back seat! !
Humanity and compassion are history now!

But being completely undeterred,
Keeping his eyes and ears closed and not bothered,
Truth is in a deep sleep now,
Snoring inside the coffin.

But, don't disturb him, please
Your God will be annoyed
His Highness may be displeased
If you wake up Truth! !

Hence, let the Truth merrily snore,
Though the devils are snarling ad dancing at large! !
Shhhhhh, don't disturb him,
Don't even dare to wake him up
Your God will be annoyed.! !

Wonderful satire on todays worshipers who worship lies, falsehood and every thing else that goes against truth. No wonder can't be disturbed. It has no place outside its coffin. Great poem Amitav. Thanks for sharing.

Truth as been a victim as long as mankind has had language. But I agree that in today's world it appears that truth has indeed died. A sadly accurate poem about the state of today's world.

Truly, truth is the entity of God and it's disturbance provokes God annoyance

Like RoseAnn I caught the humor and gentle satire in this poem. When we get too caught up in the spiritual life we forget the world of common experience. It has legitimate demands on us, especially being the place our children will grow up. Here is where children are most susceptible and we must both initiate them into adulthood and protect them from harsh forces..
