Don'T Give Up On Me Poem by Phillip Alan Green

Don'T Give Up On Me

Rating: 5.0

Life seems so empty,
Without the chitter-chatter in the background,
Bed lies cold as your eyes,
As I creep within the house that has no sound.

To think that he reaps,
The fruits of my labour,
But no man or he who passes for one,
Can come close to;
Those blue eyes and golden hair,
That look up and say unconditionally,
'I love you daddy',

Shivers; tears; strength.

No man, not even in a dozen years,
Of piggy backs, swings and slides,
Can touch us.

We are safe in the power of our love.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

To me it is not the subject but the execution that makes this poem a 10. After all, have we not all seen horrid poems on any number of worthy subjects? He gives a beautiful write, with wistful images like the 'chitter-chatter line and these are my favorites: 'No man, not even in a dozen years, Of piggy backs, swings and slides, ' I put this one among my favorites list. Thank you Phillip for sharing.

You don't give a writing on this subject anything but a 10 unless the writer can't spell. Maybe, not even then. GW62
