With the tightest strings and strongest posts
I'll keep my self on this night of ghosts
from sleepwalking, like the mummified bands,
into the deep dark corners that spirits command.
All year long I avoided those who are queer,
Tonight they roam the streets, so I won't be there,
Instead I'll stay instead and curry my pot,
And if vampires knock I'll put a stake in their heart.
