Dormez-Vous, Brahms? Poem by gershon hepner

Dormez-Vous, Brahms?

Suffering from sleep apnea, Brahms
wrote narcoleptic lullabies
which Wagner thought devoid of charms.
Fans love him and don’t ostracize
the man because he fell asleep
the first time he heard Mahler played;
though he than Wagner is less deep,
he snoreD without fanfaronade.

Brahms probably suffered from sleep apnea and narcolepsy, falling asleep the first time he heard Mahler being performed, and when he heard Liszt play Wagner.
