Do Guna
Ye mere ghar k paas ki pahaDiaN hain.
Badi satraiN hain unki jo pehchaani nahin jaati.
Un ko dekhnay k liyay ek ko do banaana paDta hai
aankh maartay logoN ki yamak ko sun-na paDta hai.
BaDi muskil ho jaati hai fir unki jaan-pechaan.
So kar jab main utha hoon
to saDak, saDak ki tarah hi dhiklaaee deti hai.
MoD k paas safed makaan hain
Do juniper k peD hain.
Is k elaavaa, aur kuch dikhlaaee main aatanahin.

Double
BY RAE ARMANTROUT
So these are the hills of home. Hazy tiers
nearly subliminal. To see them is to see
double, hear bad puns delivered with a wink.
An untoward familiarity.
Rising from my sleep, the road is more
and less the road. Around that bend are pale
houses, pairs of junipers. Then to look
reveals no more.
