In these lungs, once filled
with water,
Empty now, the air
depressed.
Saved myself, with a cough
and sputter,
Got it out of my
heaving chest.
The air I breathed was thin
and cold,
Soon it grew, thick
and warm.
Out it came, the plug I
pulled,
In, the life came, a rushing
swarm.
