Dreaming

Rating: 5.0

Breezes soft as an angels kiss
caress the sleeping maiden’s hair.
Whilst she is lost in dreams of bliss.
Reality cannot compare
with the sweet dreams of innocents.
Who have not yet met with heartache
or suffered from life’s accidents.
Alas too soon she’ll have to wake
to face up to reality
and leave her childish dreams behind.
In pursuit of her destiny.
She too will learn to plot and scheme.
To try to make her dreams come true.
Just as the rest of us must do.

Hi Poet, I hope her soul mate will be waiting, and all her dreams will come true. Alas, most us do plot and scheme. Exceptional poetry.........'Enjoyed'

Dreams are such an escape from the everyday trials and tribulations. Reality hits us far too soon, and our dreams become a sequence of muddled thoughts. Another well written piece Ivor. Very nice read. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX

'Truer words have never been spoken, than the dreams of a child suddenly broken' I agree with Mary C. Thanks for the read. 'Keep on inking the Pages' Poison

This is very beautiful and true. We have to wake from the dream of innocence to face the life of sin and misery. We have to grow up from the childhood of happiness, to the maturity of sadness. thank you Ivor for sharing this with us, for sharing it with me, I utterly love it. Mary xxx
