Dreams Poem by Robert Wyatt

Dreams

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes I can't see inside my eyes, sometimes I can.

Its like my dreams dominate every moment, and my eyes just cant hold it.

But the words always see inside -

over and over,

words longing for a match,

But their all locked up, sewn with a latch

words of sadness, words of anger and rage,

So torn up in my life book I cant even turn the page...

then comes love, sorrow, elation,

frustration, and moments of inner peace

Like my life got sold, found a new lease....

Life's my doctor and Im the patient,

Pain all over...and still sober,

he looking, tappin and mappin my body

like my souls examined but my heart in the lobby,

waiting....debating...escaping.....
