Dreams' Gardener Poem by Marilyn Jean

Dreams' Gardener

Three years almost
I see that instant
Like all others
From day one
Believe me
True
Beautiful
Unnoticed gardener
Seeds in the wind
Most carried away
Caring friend
Patient
Until one day
One summer
Came the bloom
How come?
I cannot say
No, I cannot
I don't know
Maybe it was the sea?
The sun in the room?
The closet, us?
The gaze in the stairs?
The coffee?
A silly rose?
Many conversations?
All these or none at all?
Mostly that one dream
Or all the following?
Or looking through the window?
Maybe, it how life is?
Very likely
Dreams grew bigger
Amazingly tender
Lovely gardener
Sweet, so sweet, my dreams
I am happy
You make me happy
Just like this

Marilyn, I rather like this, the short lines, the plain diction, the way it moves. Lines like Maybe, it how lives our are harm the poem. You need to be careful with EVERY line and EVERY word. Every word counts in a good poem. If you'd like, check out my new webpage: jeffersoncarterverse.com Let me know what you think of it. YRs, JC

Thanks. Of course you are right. I am usually very careful but I also write on impulse. SO I make mistakes, which I am happy to correct. MJ
