Drinks For My Friends Poem by Paul Warren

Drinks For My Friends

The word was passed from town to town
I need a drink to calm me down
For 2020 was COVID 19 for all
And staying at home was the call

So Australian was our response
For having a drink was for us ensconced
So we drunk $2 billion more
Than was our yearly counted score

So the liquor industry had a boost
During our home lock down roost
And if you need to lock down again
It's Drinks for my friends I do comprehend!
