Drought Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Drought

The relentless drought has attacked the earth,
The thirsty fields yearn for rain,
But the cloud is furious with the sin of men,
It has stubbornly decided to keep the earth without rain
And thereby make the mankind insane.
In spite of it life does not stop on the earth,
As the birds continue to sing,
The flowers spread sweet smell,
The hedge crickets chirp in joy,
All these are abundant and lively;
These are fully determined to protect the spontaneity of earth and its men,
And compensate the loss of the earth and mankind by the drought's strain.
