Drumming Never Retreating Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Drumming Never Retreating

Drumming, letting beats go up and down, never retreating,
going faster than ever, wanting to find the essence of
desires and passion.

A long and arduous journey that takes mind and intellect
deep into forests, deserts and mountains just to see if
it can be done.

Somnolent attitudes being created as impossibilities run
amok, playing games of memory and indirect mazes, puzzles
being put together.

Never wanting to be finished in the end, looking into the
lens of a camera, screens of photographic memories hanging
around.

Playing and reliving all adventures, journeys and points
of interest that avail themselves at the turn of every
century.

Taking time to follow and step into every measure of
life and its rhythms just to say it could do everything
it put its mind to along passages of this earthly life.
