Du Travail Calme.(Translation) . Poem by Michael Walker

Du Travail Calme.(Translation) .

Rating: 5.0

Leurs taches glorieuses perfectionnant en silence;

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Read Poem Hunter/ Matthew Arnold/ Poems/ 41/63, for the English original.
The poem praises humble labouring work, which is done in
tranquillity and, after a day's work, restfulness. Having done this sort of work myself, Matthew Arnold is indeed right.
The world is only interested in celebrity culture-now more than ever-but they are missing the point.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A lesson that is breathed in every wind is wonderfully and beautifully learnt from nature. This nature has wonderful effect in mind. Hard work is not separated from tranquility and we shall feel the importance of both hard work and silence. Matthew Arnold originally has expressed his feelings nicely and excellent translation done by you makes this poem really worthy...10
