I sit me down to drink my tea,
And while it cools, I think
Of places I have been to see,
And where I have had a drink.
My Birth it was in Nottingham,
In December Nineteen Forty-Three,
Holidays were often spent
At Skegness by the sea.
On Sunday Afternoons at an early age,
Afternoon teas, Echoes and Stepping-Stones,
Remembered by me with my Parents dear,
At Dovedale ~ not far from my Home.
Visits were made to Family,
In Winter to Glasgow, when small,
Visiting Grandparents every year,
And the Circus at Kelvin Hall.
Early Memories still abound,
Flitting In and Out of my Mind,
Here to recall and tell to all,
While my Memory to me is still kind.
