Early Works - Away From Me Poem by David Harris

Early Works - Away From Me

The candle flickers away
as night turns into day
and with the morning
comes my sorrows
that there will be no tomorrows.
The love I had is gone
as my world turned upside down
and she’ll not be coming around
now that she’s gone.
I gave her everything
anyone could ever wish for,
but it seems I didn’t give enough.
Another unfurled his arms around her
and she ran to his charms
and away from me.
