Earth Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A spinning marble…almost too small to mention
orbiting a burning sun…within a solar system of a galaxy
in a vast universe… beyond human comprehension
A unique planet called earth; designed for you and me

An atmosphere containing a precise mixture of gases
surrounds and sustains the life on earth's surface
Huge oceans of blue surge… separates puzzle masses
On each continent are members of the human race

Similar to hairy primates…but with much higher intellect
Discovering ways to utilize the earth's generous blessings
Often exceeding basic needs…treating gifts with disrespect
It is time to preserve our home and start reassessing
