Earth Dwellers Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Earth Dwellers

In a universe of countless stars and planets
Earth is a sphere with a cooling crust
To those who occupy this obscure globe
A search for meaningful purpose is a must...

Each living creature is uniquely designed
Is coincidence an answer for the reason why
At the top of the ladder are human beings
deciding their destiny beneath a universal sky

As people become smarter they formulate
ways to improve their existing situations
Living their lives to the fullest… at least trying
Thinking of the present and future generations

Life on earth is nothing less than a miracle;
on a speck dust as seen from far observation
Yes, it is up to earth dwellers to have a plan
One that enhances the majesty of creation

Will tomorrow bring peace to all who exist
as they share gifts from God, giving respect…
When our days are done we leave with a hope
that this planet will not suffer from neglect
