The earth is alive like breath;
the air flows on a temperate wind.
The sea pulses like a beating heart,
like blood its currents stream.
The mountains and rivers,
the lands and creatures are a gift.
The earth is our guardian,
protecting and nurturing creation.
Its only fervent plea,
that we use these treasures well.
The earth is our mother,
grown tired and taken for granted.
The earth is alive like grace;
but like love, the earth can die.
And yet she need not die.
The earth is an eternal spirit.
Though she may live forever,
her children must now take care.
A lovely poem Barry, as we pass the baton onto our children and hope we have thought them well to respect our mother earth. Annette.
Thanks again Annette. It gives me a lot of joy to know that mt son gets it.

Beautiful write. Thought-provoking. A plea to save our lovely planet earth. You have given a great message without being didactic. A great work. A10.
Thanks Nosheen. I actually wrote this and another poem for Dr Fab's e-book but then I submitted Eden's Rose instead.
