Earth Price Paid In Neglecting The Environment Poem by Terence George Craddock

Earth Price Paid In Neglecting The Environment

considering the earth price
to be paid in neglecting
the environment melting

glaciers ice caps rising
sea levels meaning
eventual

inundation
of all earth
coastlines

low land

massive deforestation
burning fossil fuels
producing global warming

increased extreme weather
vicious floods draughts
runaway wild fires

producing coughing
air pollution crops
washed away

dried up
burned
producing

food shortages
price rises
famine plague

death

do you not think
perhaps the price
paid in neglecting

the environment
is too much
or do you need

more time
to think
about it

procrastinate
while the earth
nature issues

more
alarm warning
signs

while more
vegetation
flora fauna

dies

while nothing
is done until tipping
point too late

Written after reading a few of my poems below, and considering the earth price to be paid in neglecting the environment, ignoring protestors fighting to prevent environment disasters, fighting to save the environment, yet failing because too few care.
