Easter Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Easter

Rating: 5.0

Easter is celebrated by Christians
After Good Friday,
It is celebrated in feasting
It is on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Easter celebrates Jesus Christ's
Resurrection from dead,
It is Christianity's most important
Holiday which removes bad.

It is believed that Lord Jesus
Come back to life after death,
Three days after crucifixion
That is commemorated on faith.

It has been called a movable feast
Because it doesn't fall on a said date,
Every year it falls in a different day
It is in a certain rate.

Easter is derived from Eostre
A Teutonic goddess of spring,
It is also a Latin term
Which accounts trace Easter to bring?

Easter is preceded by Lent
That begins on Ash Wednesday,
It contains holy week and
Forty days excluding Sunday.

In this festival prayer goes on
All devotees have night vigil,
They douse other people in holy water
Egg roll competition does thrill.

In Sunrise service brothers and sisters
Are enfolded with love and affection,
It creates fraternity and peace
And it ends on feast of Ascension.
