How To Acquire Peace - Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

On changeable Earth human beings are wise,
They want to perpetuate the progress in rise.
Some vie in earning wealth to live happily,
Attractive edifices they build to reside properly.

To lead a prosperous life some are on keen,
To live peacefully they try hard and do gin.
Some are on moonshine and they visualize peace,
They visualize peace by wealth, pedantry and dish.

Do persons indeed get peace from wealth?
Or do they avail eternal happiness or mental health?
Peace can’t be obtained where there is vexation,
Nor it can be acquired in fuss and transgression.

Perplexity and agitation don’t bring peace,
Wealth can bring transient happiness and bliss.
Eternal peace we can acquire through noble work,
Truthfulness, nonviolence can remove anxiety-murk.

We can acquire eternal peace through meditation,
Value in life can save persons from damnation.
Love, purity, charity, truthfulness, believe in God,
These help a person to acquire eternal peace-bud.

The poet has wisely held the subject in proper perspective and has put forth the factors which keep a man from peace of mind in life. Then the ways through which one can attain peace have also been elucidated. Motivational poem. Thanks, Kumarmani ji.

It is a great question, sir. So there will come a great answer to it. Today humans are not on right path. Greed, envy, enmity, hatred, ......... are teasing them so oppressions more or less are everywhere in the world which are also getting intensified for several causes, wars threatening is one of them. Obviously peace is unseen and long far. Through all these tumultous, chaos, sins, perterbations situations humans are advancing like blind, deaf, dumb, ........... (Report) Reply

Very recently I heard a Christian preacher talk about this topic, reminding the people, as you do,
to search for peace before wealth and possessions. As you show, it is all too easy to lose peace
of mind and go through mental turmoil and perplexity. When life is going well, I feel at peace, as you seem to also.
    A very thought-provoking, didactic poem.

We can acquire peace by letting go of things that beyond our control. Don’t worry about what others are thinking of you. Most likely they’re too busy wondering what others are thinking of them. (Report) Reply

Great wisdom you shared here my friend, thank you for a perfect lesson, why, indeed, we don't need to look for peace in things, nor people, we had it all the way with us, we just have to live truthful, and be kind to self and everybody also everything else. Thank you! ! (Report) Reply

A poem rich in steeped wisdom, I especially enjoyed the last stanza,

'We can acquire eternal peace through meditation,
Value in life can save persons from damnation.
Love, purity, charity, truthfulness, believe in God,
These help a person to acquire eternal peace-bud.'

Meditation can so often be a temporary refuge from adversity, a source of peace, the foundation blessing of people with peace bestowing beautiful minds.
