Easy To Do Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Easy To Do

"Oh, how I wish.
I could just sit and get,
My wishes granted.
And not lift a finger.
Making this easy to do.
Without thinking or waste,
An unused brain cell."

There are many living their lives.
Doing it to prove it takes ambition.
And discipline to self ignite.
Without moments of wishing,
For their every wish to get.

"...and God, before I forget.
I would rather have it leather trimmed.
I know I said before,
Something else I wanted for the interior.
I changed my mind."

There are also many others.
Who live their lives making excuses.
With it wanted to believe,
Others have had it luckier.
Doing exactly what they like and please.
The ones no one sees,
Spending most of their lives...
With rolled up sleeves.
Sleepless.
Not eating.
And sacrificing just to prove,
How this is easy to do.
While finding creative ways,
To pay bills too.
Knowing this to do is envied by everyone.
Especially by the ones,
Who criticize their best to survive.
Those who sit on their backsides and lie.

And those who sit.
Will always to themselves and others,
Make up excuses as to why...
The ones they lie upon and criticize.
Find that much easier for them to do.
If they did not live their lives to prove,
Success to wish and want it...
Had to be done,
With it getting up off their butts to move.
Without a moment of rest.
From anyone else.
To allow it borrowed or donated to get.
