Eddy Sad Sack Poem by Francis Duggan

Eddy Sad Sack

Rating: 5.0

If you are always sad faced and unhappy and telling others life is hard on you
Then you will find that you will not be popular and that your sympathizers will be few
For others do not wish to know of your hard luck stories or of how your problems of late seem to have grown
They do not wish to hear of your sob stories since they have many problems of their own.

They do not wish to hear of your sob stories and they won't offer you much sympathy
Since you can only talk of your depression and they do not see that as a tragedy
In their lives they could do with much more laughter and you are not one who give rise to cheer
They look on you as one who lack in humour and find you that bit heavy on the ear.

They have a nickname for you 'Eddy Sad Sack' as you only talk of me, myself and I
If you were humorous easy going and carefree your company they surely would enjoy
When you feel depressed few seem to want to know you as people like you doesn't brighten up their day
To be happy doesn't cost you any money and a smile and laugh can take you a long way.

Poor Eddy Sad Sack is not a happy fellow and in humour he is one who sadly lack
To those who care to listen he tells his 'poor me' stories and if he did smile his face would surely crack
He never smiles or laughs and he's always sad faced and the weight of the world on his shoulders lay
And one could say that he's not the type of fellow for to make you laugh and brighten up your day.
