Ejected Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Ejected

Ejected!
From minds to leave.
Any common sense at all to keep.
Speeding out of heads like a rocket.
Gone.
Permanently.

Ejected!
From the minds to leave.
Any common sense at all to keep.
Gone.
And speeding out of heads.
Even nonbelievers say, "What? "
Even nonbelievers say, "What? "

A countdown to the meltdown.
Did not take months.
Or did it take weeks,
Or days to await it to come.
A countdown to the meltdown.
Did not take months.
Or did it take weeks...
For that meltdown to happen done.

Ejected!
From the minds to leave.
Speeding like a rocket.
And quicker than a bullet.
Gone.
Disappearing unseen.
Gone.
No more on the scene.

Ejected!
Leaving nonbelievers to say, "What? "

Common sense is gone.
Leaving nonbelievers to say, "What? "

It has been,
Ejected!
Leaving nonbelievers to say, "What? "
