Two hearts ablaze
with passion's fire
They danced,
they laughed,
they never tire
But as the flames grew
higher and higher
Their love consumed them
like a pyre.
The heat of their love
was too intense.
And as they burned,
they lost all sense.
Of time and space,
of joy and pain
Only the fire of their love remained.
Now their love is
but embers and ash
A memory of a love
that was too rash,
But still,
the embers of desire burn-
A reminder of
the love they yearn.
