Emigration Poem by Daniel Bernard Kelleher

Emigration

Looking into weeping eyes
As I hug and said goodbye
I'am off across the water
No work for me this side
Despite hearing of recoveries
Of unemployment numbers down
Figures just don't add up
Austerity still all around
As I leave my wife behind me
Its certainly not by choice
She stays to care for our kids
For awhile ill missed their smiles
Praying this slump won't last for long
And I can return home to them for good
Greed and corruption caused austerity
Caused the break up of the family home
